This early evening concert by the Hepton Singers presents a programme full of contrasts, from intense Mediterranean heat epitomised by the music of Claudio Monteverdi, to the chillingly beautiful soundscapes of the Icelandic composer Anna Thorvaldsdottir. Music celebrating the terrifying beauty of the Northern Lights is counterbalanced by some of the most joyous and exquisitely crafted music to have flowed from the pen of the great Spanish Renaissance composer Tomas Luis de Victoria. Then music composed by James MacMillan and Peter Maxwell Davies celebrating the coming of new life is framed by the tranquil sacred minimalism of the Estonian composer Arvo Pärt.
This is an early evening event, starting at 6.00pm, finishing approximately 7.00pm.
