For their Spring concert, Hepton Singers are delighted to welcome The Conwal Singers from County Donegal, Republic of Ireland in a shared concert of deliciously varied choral music. The two choirs will come together in a range of joint pieces, from the music of Tomás Luis de Victoria and the warm ambience of sixteenth-century Spain, through to the contemporary mellow dissonance of Eric Whitacre and Frank Ticheli. The Conwal Singers will present their own program of pieces, including new folksong arrangements alongside such choral classics as Ola Gjeilo’s Ubi Caritas and the serenely beautiful Good Night, Dear Heart by Dan Forrest. Meanwhile, Hepton Singers’ program will include music by the incredible Pulitzer Prize winning composer Caroline Shaw, as well as works by Edward Elgar, Arvo Pärt, Billy Joel and Icelandic composer Anna Thorvaldsdottir.
